I'm trying to find the name of this excellent big band song?
I tell you what, if you heard it you'd know it. It's a big brass number. I just recently heard it played on a movie called 'My Best Friends Girl' at the wedding part, but it didn't play for long enough to make the credits.
The song is a big brass number, sounds like it dates back to the 1920's (no it's not 'In the Mood'). It's a very uptempo song, and whenever you hear it play on a movie you see guys picking up girls on the dance floor and flailing them around.
For anyone that knows music, here's a basic kinda gist at what I mean.....
B....A....G....A......B..B.A..A..G..A.B....
B...E....E...B.....E..E...E.B..B..B...
G.A.G.A.G.A.B.A...G.E.....
PS. First E's are high, last one is octave lower
Any suggestions appreciated.
Cheers
I haven't seen the movie but based on the list of songs used in the movie, my guess is you're talking about "Sing, Sing, Sing" made famous by Benny Goodman and his Orchestra and a fabulous drum solo from Buddy Rich. Linked below....
