There are a couple things that could be going on.
If your other remotes work without a problem, then the issue is most likely the keyless entry pad. They usually run about $35.00.
If you have the same problem with the remotes, then the control board inside the machine is going bad. Without knowing the brand of your opener, I can't tell you what a new board costs, but expect to pay at least $75.00 plus labor for a new board.
