Turbo charging a Honda civic?
I got a 1993 Honda Civic ex. I'm new to turbo charging and i was wondering how much boost can a stock d16z6 vtec head, and whats a good boost range for it to. And does the waste gate control the boost, i know the blow off valve releases the air when the thottle body closes. and were do you hook up the oil inlet and outlet on the turbo. If anyone has anymore suggestion on what to do and how to hook it up, post it please.
I wouldn't go over 8psi on a stock D16Z6 from 1993. Was it ever rebuilt?
Personally I would either A, rebuild the entire motor with stronger internals so it can handle more boost. Or B, swap out the motor for a more powerful one.
I've heard claims about rebuilt D16Z6's taking 20-25psi of boost, so if you rebuild the motor good enough I'm sure it could handle over 10psi.
