To the Great Dane parents...?
I have a Dane/German Shepherd mix, that to my best guess will be a little shorter but a little longer and stockier. All I know is he's gonna be a big dog. Anyone have luck using a doggy door, and what size? He's 6 months now and wiggles through my mom's Medium door when we visit. He still has another year of growing to do, but I would like to get him a door because I work for 10 hours (I visit on my lunch hour, but I still think he's be happier with constant access) and he keeps begging to come in then go out again when I am home.
It's going into the back door, but I'd like to settle with the smallest door I can. Does your Dane make it through a "Large" sized door that's raised off the ground (since it's really the widest part of their body that needs to fit, not their entire body) or do I need to spring for an XLarge?
I would go with the x-tra large because if you get the large there is a chance you may have to buy again if the dog gets to big so why waste your cash
